The lake features moderately clear water with a maximum depth of 30 feet, making it suitable for various water activities and skill levels.

**What to Expect:** This is a popular destination for fishing and paddling, with populations of panfish, largemouth bass, and northern pike. The lake connects to North Turtle via a water passage under a small bridge, and a dam on South Turtle Lake helps regulate water levels for the chain. The northeastern access point is convenient for launching kayaks and canoes, and an ADA-compliant ramp has been added to improve accessibility.
