About This Access Site
The boat ramp at Two Medicine Lake is located in Glacier National Park's Two Medicine Valley, positioned right next to the Two Medicine Campstore at the end of the access road. This is a convenient launching point for kayakers and small boaters—a ramp is available for those who prefer not to hand-carry their vessels. Boating pressure on Two Medicine Lake is relatively light compared to other park lakes, making it an attractive option for a quieter paddling experience.

Two Medicine Lake spans approximately 2 miles and serves as an excellent gateway for backcountry exploration. Many paddlers use the lake to access trailheads on the opposite shore, as a boat ride to the west side dock saves roughly 2.5 miles of hiking each way on the North Shore Trail. Popular destinations accessible by water include Upper Two Medicine Lake, No Name Lake, Dawson Pass, and Oldman Lake. The nearby Two Medicine Campground (100 sites, reservable through Recreation.gov at 406-888-7800) provides full camping facilities, though note that there is no cell service or wifi in the valley. The ranger station and campstore are in close proximity to the launch area.
