About This Access Site
The Umbagog Lake boat ramp in Errol provides convenient access to this expansive 7,600-acre lake in northeastern New Hampshire, located just two hours north of Portland, Maine. Situated along NH Route 26 on the lake's southern shore at Umbagog Lake State Park, the ramp offers a straightforward launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The park includes a base campground with 27 developed campsites featuring electrical and water hookups, plus two cabins, making it a good option for day trips or extended outings.

Umbagog Lake is known for excellent recreational opportunities, including quality smallmouth bass fishing and scenic paddling. The lake is surrounded by the Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge, offering wildlife viewing opportunities. In addition to the main ramp access, the lake features 33 remote wilderness campsites and 4 remote cabins accessible only by boat, making it ideal for backcountry paddlers seeking multi-day adventures. Anglers and paddlers should be prepared for a large, open-water environment and check current conditions before launching.
