Located in Cambridge, NH along Route 26, the Umbagog Lake State Park boat ramp provides convenient access to the 7,600-acre Lake Umbagog. The facility features a dedicated boat launch ramp and docks, making it ideal for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The park is situated adjacent to the Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge, offering excellent opportunities for paddling and wildlife viewing in a scenic, relatively undeveloped setting.
The park supports both day-use and overnight recreation. On-site amenities include equipment rentals (canoes, kayaks, and rowboats), motorboat fuel, and a public campground with 27 sites offering electrical and water hook-ups, plus additional remote campsites and cabins accessible only by boat. The lake is known for quality smallmouth bass fishing and provides shoreline access for bank fishing as well.
This is an excellent launching point for exploring a large, scenic lake in northeastern New Hampshire. The ramp's proximity to Portland, Maine (approximately two hours south) makes it accessible for weekend trips. Plan ahead if you're interested in renting equipment or camping, and note that remote campsites provide boat-access-only accommodations for extended paddling trips.
