About This Access Site
The Peeler Bend boat ramp provides access to the Saline River, a large headwater stream in southern Arkansas. This concrete ramp is located about 2.5 miles east of AR Highway 8, just south of the town of Sumpter.

The Saline River is a substantial waterway, spanning 754 miles with an average flow of over 4,300 cubic feet per second. Paddlers and boaters can expect a fairly swift current, with an average gradient of 3.7 feet per mile. The river's depth can vary, so caution is advised, especially during low water periods.

Nearby, the Felsenthal National Wildlife Refuge offers additional public access points along the Ouachita and Black Rivers, providing opportunities for boating, fishing, and other recreation. Visitors should check locally for any current conditions or access restrictions before launching.
