About This Access Site
Vause Landing is a two-lane concrete boat ramp with dock access located on Lake Talquin's south side, off Jack Vause Landing Road near Tallahassee. The facility includes gravel parking and is maintained by Leon County Parks and Recreation as part of their network of 23 public boat landings throughout the county. This location provides convenient access for both powerboats and paddle craft (kayaks and canoes) looking to explore Lake Talquin and the Ochlockonee River system.

The landing serves as a mid-lake access point, making it ideal for paddlers and boaters planning to explore the scenic waters of Lake Talquin State Park. The combination of the concrete ramp, dock, and parking makes for easy launching and recovery of vessels. Leon County maintains all its public landings regularly, and this site is one of several options available to recreationalists on Lake Talquin, offering flexibility for planning multi-day paddling or fishing trips in the area.
