About This Access Site
Vermillion Valley Resort offers a free public boat launch on the picturesque Lake Thomas A. Edison in the Sierra National Forest. This high-altitude reservoir is a popular destination for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats.

The boat ramp provides easy access to the lake's calm waters, which are surrounded by towering pines and rugged mountain scenery. Paddlers can explore the shoreline and enjoy the tranquil environment. A ferry service across the lake is available, providing access to trailheads in the nearby Ansel Adams Wilderness (note: ferry service may be limited or unavailable due to low water levels).

Campsites are available at the adjacent Vermillion Campground, which offers shaded sites with views of the lake. Visitors should be prepared for high-elevation conditions and follow all boating regulations. The boat ramp is open to the public, though specific hours and fees may apply.
