Vernita Bridge provides boat access to the Columbia River's scenic Hanford Reach, located near Susie in Grant County. This concrete ramp features a 2-lane launch system and dock suitable for kayaks, canoes, and larger boats. The site is minimally developed—bring all supplies you'll need, as amenities are sparse along this stretch of river. A Discover Pass is required for day use.
**Planning Your Trip:** The Hanford Reach between Priest Rapids Dam and Richland spans 51 miles and offers remote paddling through designated wildlife refuge areas. Plan accordingly, as access points are limited—Vernita Bridge, White Bluffs Boat Ramp, and Ringold Fish Hatchery are the only launch options in this section. Non-motorized trips can take over 16 hours, so paddlers should be experienced and prepared for isolation. The area is popular with early-morning boaters and offers excellent river views with access to Saddle Mountain National Wildlife Refuge nearby.
**Note:** WDFW has recently implemented changes to camping and day use policies at this site to protect natural habitat. Check current conditions and regulations before your visit, as overnight use policies have been modified.
