About This Access Site
Vernita Bridge provides a concrete boat ramp with a 2-lane launch system and dock facilities for accessing the Columbia River's Hanford Reach. Located near Susie in Grant County, this is one of only four access points along the 51-mile stretch between Priest Rapids Dam and Richland, making it a critical launch site for kayakers and canoeists planning extended river trips. Note that a Discover Pass is required.

**Plan accordingly for longer journeys.** The reach between Priest Rapids Dam and Richland can take over 16 hours to paddle in a non-motorized craft, with minimal facilities available along the way. Bring all necessary supplies, water, and gear, as this is a remote location with limited amenities. The Saddle Mountains nearby offer scenic views along the river corridor. If you're looking for additional access points, White Bluffs Boat Ramp and Ringold Fish Hatchery area provide alternative launch options for different sections of the Hanford Reach.
