About This Access Site
Viking Lake's south access point offers a concrete boat ramp with nearby docking facilities located in a well-protected cove, making it an excellent launch location for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. This 140-acre lake, renovated and restocked in 2009, features a sandy beach on the western shore and multiple boat ramps throughout the park to accommodate various access needs. The lake ranges from shallow areas near the beach to depths of 44 feet, providing diverse paddling and boating opportunities.

The lake operates under a "no wake" speed policy for all motorboats, making it ideal for paddlers seeking calmer waters. Amenities at the park include a boat concession near the swimming area with bait sales and boat rentals (motor boats, paddle boats, and pontoons). Additional park features include six universally accessible fishing jetties for shoreline anglers and facilities for both day-use visitors and those seeking annual rental reservations. Located in Stanton, Montgomery County, Viking Lake State Park is a well-developed recreation area suitable for paddlers of all skill levels.
