About This Access Site
**Access Overview**
French Landing is a free, public boat ramp located on the St. Johns River in Orange City, providing convenient access to one of Florida's most popular paddling destinations. The launch features a concrete ramp and sandy beach area, with parking available at the site. This access point remains open even when Blue Spring State Park reaches capacity, making it a reliable option during peak seasons.

**What to Expect**
From French Landing, it's approximately a quarter-mile paddle to Blue Spring Run and the main park entrance. The St. Johns River here sees moderate motorboat traffic, so paddlers should be prepared for mixed-use conditions. The launch area has porta-potties available, and additional facilities can be found at Blue Spring State Park itself. Be aware that no amenities (food, water, restrooms beyond porta-potties) are located directly at the landing—plan accordingly for longer trips.

**Practical Notes**
Launching here is free and requires no reservations. From the parking area, it's about 200 feet to the water. While the French Landing launch is less crowded than the main park entrance, paddlers should be courteous of motorized boats also using the ramp. If you plan to explore Blue Spring Run and enter the state park proper, note that park entry fees apply ($6/vehicle). This location works well as an alternative launch point when the main park is at capacity.
