Waconda-Walnut Creek

The Waconda-Walnut Creek boat ramp provides access to Glen Elder Reservoir (Waconda Lake) on the Solomon River in Mitchell County, Kansas. This access point serves paddlers and boaters looking to explore the reservoir and surrounding waterways. The Solomon River at this location is a large, mature stream (Stream Order 7) with an average flow of 654 cubic feet per second and relatively gentle gradient of 1.7 feet per mile, making it suitable for various water recreation activities.

Glen Elder Reservoir offers diverse fishing opportunities, with walleye, crappie, white bass, striped bass, and catfish available throughout the year.
