About This Access Site
The Warming Hut access site provides a convenient launch point onto the 198-acre Lackawanna Lake in Dalton, making it an excellent choice for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters. The facility includes a boat ramp, kiosk, and wayside area. Compact gravel carriage roads accessible from both sides of the launch area offer additional exploration opportunities—note the metal gates marked "Do Not Block Gate" on both sides.

Lackawanna Lake is a popular destination for paddle sports, offering calm water suitable for canoeing and kayaking. The site's proximity to other regional attractions, including Steamtown National Historic Site and Aylesworth Creek Lake (about 10 miles upstream), makes it a good base for exploring the area. Before launching, check current Pennsylvania boating regulations for any special rules that may apply to this water body.
