About This Access Site
Located near Saxton in Bedford County, Warriors Path State Park offers a concrete boat ramp providing access to the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River. The ramp is situated a few hundred yards inside the park entrance and can accommodate canoes, kayaks, rafts, and small motorboats. This site works well as either a launch or take-out point for paddlers floating the river section. Note that motorboating is limited during summer months when water levels drop significantly.

The Raystown Branch in this area is a remote stretch with limited intermediate access points, so plan your shuttle accordingly if doing a multi-day paddle. The river supports smallmouth bass, rock bass, carp, catfish, walleye, and other species, making it popular for fishing. The park also features picnic facilities and camping options nearby (contact 814-658-3405 for reservations). This section of river is known for excellent natural stream meandering and offers scenic paddling through relatively undeveloped terrain.
