Washita Point Access Point

The Washita Point Access Point provides a boat ramp for launching small watercraft like kayaks, canoes, and jon boats onto the Red River near Lake Texoma. This access point is part of the Grandpappy Point Marina recreation area, which is managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

While there is no boat ramp directly on the Washita River itself, this access point allows paddlers and anglers to reach the Red River downstream of Lake Texoma. The Red River in this area is a large, slow-moving waterway, making it well-suited for leisurely floats and fishing. Nearby Lake Texoma is renowned for its excellent striped bass fishing, so the Washita Point Access provides a convenient launching point to access the lake as well.

There are no campgrounds or other amenities directly at the Washita Point Access, but the Bridgeview Camp Marina is located within 10 miles. Paddlers and boaters should come prepared with their own safety gear, supplies, and any necessary permits or licenses for the area. While no fees or reservations are required to use this access point, visitors should check for any updated rules or restrictions before their trip.
