About This Access Site
Water Street Landing in Plymouth, NC offers convenient public access to the Roanoke River with two launching lanes, courtesy docks, and approximately 40 trailer parking spaces located at the corner of Monroe and Water Streets (205 West Water Street). The facility is free and open 24 hours, with amenities including restrooms, picnic shelter, a concrete canoe/kayak ramp, canoe/kayak storage racks, and trash receptacles. A multiuse trail system and the Roanoke River Greenway provide additional recreation opportunities nearby.

The Roanoke River is a major waterway (stream order 8) with an average flow of approximately 9,688 cubic feet per second and current velocity of 6.65 feet per second. With a modest average gradient of 3.2 feet per mile, the river offers moderate paddling conditions suitable for various skill levels.
