About This Access Site
Located in downtown Wauchula on the Peace River, this City of Wauchula-owned facility offers convenient access for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. The boat ramp is easy to use for launching and takeout. To reach the park, take US 17 to Wauchula and turn east on Main Street (SR 64A/CR 636), following it about one mile to the Main Street Bridge over the Peace River—blue canoeing signs mark the way.

The park provides good amenities for day trips, including parking, restrooms, water access, picnic tables, and a playground. A visitor center with historic displays is also available. Paddlers heading south downriver should monitor water levels at the Zolfo Springs gauge; conditions are generally safe and suitable for paddling when the river reads 7 feet or lower. The Peace River in this area offers a scenic, relatively gentle paddling experience through Florida's Atlantic Coastal Plain, making this a practical put-in for day trips and longer excursions.
