Mississippi River, Weaver Landing State Water Acc*

Weaver Landing is a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service access point located on Prichard Lake along the Mississippi River in Altura, Wabasha County. The site features a concrete plank ramp designed for smaller vessels and is best suited for kayaks, canoes, and boats under 18 feet. This is a shallow water access point, making it ideal for paddlers and those with smaller recreational craft.

The landing provides 24-hour public access for both trailer launches and carry-in use. Located within Pool 5 of the Upper Mississippi River—a scenic stretch between Minnesota City and Winona—this access point offers paddlers entry to one of Minnesota's most scenic river corridors. Paddlers should note the shallow water conditions and plan accordingly for their vessel type. The site is open year-round unless posted otherwise, making it a convenient option for accessing this section of the Mississippi River.
