West Crooked Lake

West Crooked Lake is a 270-acre lake in scenic Hubbard County, Minnesota, offering public boat access near Park Rapids. The developed access site features a concrete boat ramp, parking lot, and vault toilet facilities, making it suitable for kayakers, canoeists, and motorboaters. With a maximum depth of 50 feet and relatively flat surrounding terrain, this is a good choice for leisurely paddling and fishing.

This location is particularly well-suited for multi-lake trips, as it sits directly across from the mouth of the Crooked River and provides convenient access between West Crooked and Burt Lakes. Paddlers should note that the access site is closed from 11:00 pm to 4:00 am, and swimming, wading, and bathing are not permitted at the launch area. The lake's sandy soils and flat-to-gently-rolling watershed make it accessible year-round, though the small facility may have limited capacity during peak usage times.
