Located near Montesano in Grays Harbor County, the West Fork Satsop boat ramp provides year-round access to this scenic river. The site features a newly installed boat launch, vault toilet, gravel parking area, and one ADA-accessible parking space. This is a solid put-in point for kayakers and canoeists exploring the West Fork.
**Navigation Notes:** The launch area includes some river obstacles—notably logs and root wads—that require careful maneuvering. Paddlers should stay in the narrow center channel to navigate between the large root wad and overhanging branches, then slide over the log for the easiest passage. At lower water levels (below 1,000 CFS), the left route may be preferable but involves dragging over shallow areas. Similar log obstacles present at the takeout, though they're less challenging than they initially appear. Water levels and seasonal conditions will affect difficulty.
**Takeout Options:** This site serves as a launch point for floats down the West Fork. The nearest takeout is the Highway 8 WDFW ramp downstream. The Cook Creek launch (near the confluence) is an alternative put-in but involves a rough, steep drop to a dry gravel bar and is less developed than this site.
