About This Access Site
The West Parksville boat ramp provides access to Lake Ocoee, a reservoir on the Ocoee River in Polk County, Tennessee. This launch site has two ramps - the west ramp is suitable for launching larger motorboats, while the east ramp is more shallow and better suited for smaller watercraft like canoes and kayaks.

Paddlers and boaters will find basic amenities at this access point, including a vault toilet and parking area. The lake itself is popular for water sports like skiing, pontoon boating, and jet skiing, as well as swimming and picnicking. West Parksville is part of the larger Ocoee Recreation Area, which offers numerous opportunities for enjoying the Ocoee River and its surroundings.

Those looking to explore the Ocoee River by kayak or canoe should note that the river downstream has class III-IV whitewater rapids, making it unsuitable for beginner paddlers. The upper sections of the Ocoee, including the lake, tend to be calmer and more suitable for leisurely floats and lake activities. Boaters and paddlers should always check current conditions and regulations before launching.
