White Sand Lake

Located near Boulder Junction in Vilas County, the White Sand Lake public boat ramp provides convenient access to this 746-acre mesotrophic lake. The ramp features a gravel launch area suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorized boats. With a maximum depth of 71 feet and excellent water clarity, White Sand Lake offers good paddling conditions for a variety of skill levels.

Anglers will find diverse fish species including musky, northern pike, walleye, largemouth and smallmouth bass, and panfish. Before launching, be aware that the lake has documented aquatic invasive species including rusty crayfish and purple loosestrife, so clean and inspect your vessel accordingly. Additionally, fish consumption advisories exist due to mercury concerns, so check current guidelines before keeping any catch.
