Whiteface Reservoir (South)

The south boat ramp at Whiteface Reservoir provides a concrete launch facility with parking for approximately 11 trailers, two docks, and restroom facilities. Located near the outlet dam off Blais Road in the Superior National Forest, this is the primary access point for the reservoir's southern end. The ramp is a back-in concrete slab design suitable for launching trailered boats and is maintained by the U.S. Forest Service.

Whiteface Reservoir spans 4,567 acres at summer high water and reaches a maximum depth of 35 feet, with much of the basin characterized by flooded forest. The lake is popular for fishing walleye, bluegill, and crappie. Paddlers and boaters should note that the reservoir has two additional boat launches on the south end and one on the north end. Dispersed campsites accessible by boat are available on the reservoir, and the adjacent Whiteface Reservoir Campground offers overnight accommodations with amenities including electric sites, a swim beach, and picnic areas. Recreation
A boat launch located at the campground provides access to the great walleye, panfish and northern fishery in the reservoir. The fish cleaning house next to the boat launch gives anglers the chance to clean their fish in time for lunch at the picnic area.

Children will have a great time playing on the playground and on the small, sandy beach. There are also 2.5 miles of hiking trails within the facility.Facilities
Whiteface Reservoir Campground provides sites for RV and tent camping, along with a few hike-in sites. The opposite shoreline is dotted with private residences.

A few sites overlook the reservoir, and all sites offer shade and privacy. The campground also has some long-term sites that have a yearly fee associated with them.

Campsites are in a mixed forest including aspen, birch and maple. The reservoir provides 4,980 acres of calm, clean waters. Numerous species of birds and wildlife inhabit the area.
