About This Access Site
Whitestone Lake is a 147-acre reservoir located in Okanogan County near Ellisforde, offering public boat access via a concrete launch ramp. The site is situated at 1,264 feet elevation in the scenic Whitestone Coulee Unit of the Chief Joseph Dam Project area. To reach the access point from Tonasket, head north on Loomis-Oroville Road for approximately 8 miles—the launch will be on your left.

This access site is well-suited for kayakers, canoeists, and small boat operators looking to explore a mid-sized mountain lake. The lake features good shoreline access and a dedicated public boat launch facility with restroom amenities. While the lake has not been recently stocked for fishing, it remains a pleasant destination for paddling and recreational boating in the Okanogan area.

The location provides convenient access to nearby recreation opportunities, including Spectacle Lake (another 396-acre reservoir in the same Okanogan-Similkameen Division) and Split Rock Day Use Area on Palmer Lake, which features the region's only public sandy beach—making this a good base for exploring multiple water bodies in the area.
