About This Access Site
Williams Creek Reservoir in Colorado's Hinsdale County offers a convenient boat ramp for kayakers, canoeists, and small motorized boats. The reservoir is situated at the edge of a ponderosa pine and spruce forest, providing a scenic setting for paddling and fishing.

The boat ramp is located on the northwest end of the reservoir, off Williams Creek Road. It is the only public access point for launching watercraft on the lake. The reservoir is considered a no-wake zone, allowing for peaceful and relaxed boating. Anglers will find the lake stocked with a variety of fish species, making it a popular destination for fishing as well.

Nearby, the San Juan National Forest offers several campgrounds within a 10-mile radius, providing options for overnight stays. Visitors to the Williams Creek Reservoir State Wildlife Area will need either a valid fishing or hunting license, or a State Wildlife Area pass, to access the site. This peaceful mountain lake offers a great opportunity for nature-based recreation in a beautiful Colorado setting.
