Wilson Lake

Located in Itasca County near Togo, Minnesota, the Wilson Lake boat ramp provides convenient access to this backcountry paddling destination within the Superior National Forest. The ramp features a 2-lane concrete launch with paved parking, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats. Additional amenities include a courtesy dock, restrooms, a fishing pier, and shore fishing areas, making this a well-developed access point for a day trip or longer exploration.

Wilson Lake offers backcountry camping opportunities, with one designated campsite accessible by boat from the main ramp. The lake is located approximately 11 miles northwest of Schroeder and is managed under natural fish reproduction protocols, making it an attractive destination for paddlers seeking quieter, less developed water. Access the ramp from US Forest Service Road #170 on the south end of the lake. Paddlers should consult Superior National Forest maps to locate all campsites and additional access points, including the separate boat ramp for Little Wilson Lake's single backcountry site.
