About This Access Site
Wilson Lake is located approximately 11 miles northwest of Schroeder within the Superior National Forest in Lake County, Minnesota. This access point features a public boat ramp on the south end of the lake off Forest Service Road #170, providing convenient launching for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The concrete ramp and paved parking make it straightforward to access this scenic backcountry destination.

The lake provides access to a single backcountry campsite managed as a first-come, first-served facility. Paddlers should note that this is a near-wilderness site with minimal amenities—expect a fire grate, latrine, and possibly a picnic table. Be prepared to treat or boil water, hang food packs, and fully extinguish fires before leaving camp. A Forest Service map is recommended to locate campsites and plan your route, and additional camping is available at Ninemile Lake Campground (reservable) within 10 miles if needed.
