About This Access Site
Located at Wilson State Park near Bunker Hill in Russell County, this boat ramp provides access to Wilson Lake on the Saline River. The ramp is designed for small watercraft and offers a convenient launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and recreational boaters. Note that this ramp becomes unusable when lake levels drop 5 feet or more, so water conditions should be checked before your visit.

Wilson Lake is known for its clear blue water and excellent fishing opportunities, particularly for striped bass. The Saline River itself is a large stream (7th order) with a moderate gradient of 4.3 feet per mile and average flows around 278 cubic feet per second. The surrounding Wilson State Park area features camping facilities with prairie views, hiking trails, and additional amenities like a sand volleyball court and playground, making it a good base for multi-day paddling trips or longer outdoor recreation visits.
