Wilson's Landing is a town-maintained public boat ramp offering convenient access to the Connecticut River in Hanover. The launch features a concrete slab ramp with a dock and accommodates trailed boats. The site has 18 parking spaces and seasonal chemical toilets. Access is via East Barber Street off Route 159, with paved road access to the ramp. The landing is open year-round and is located on the west side of the Four Mile River area.
The Connecticut River at this location is a major waterway—a Stream Order 8 river with significant flow averaging over 22,800 cubic feet per second. Paddlers should expect moderate current conditions typical of this section, with an average velocity of 5.11 feet/second and a gentle gradient of about 6.5 feet/mile. This is a substantial river suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small motorboats, though paddlers should be comfortable with moving water conditions.
The Hanover area offers excellent paddling opportunities and scenic views. Downstream, the river flows through the impressive Quechee Gorge, a natural highlight worth exploring. Nearby, Union Village Dam (over 6 miles away) provides access to calmer, fishable sections with stocked and native trout. Note that this ramp has no disability access facilities.
