About This Access Site
The Winamac Fish & Wildlife Area boat ramp provides access to Bass Lake in Knox, within this expansive 4,850-acre wildlife area north of Winamac. This access point is best suited for small watercraft and recreational paddlers. **Important note:** There is no boat trailer launch facility at this site, making it most practical for kayaks, canoes, and hand-launched boats rather than larger vessels with trailers.

Bass Lake is a shallow pond within the wildlife area, which is primarily managed for waterfowl habitat and wildlife viewing rather than boating recreation. Fishing opportunities are limited due to the shallow water. The area emphasizes wildlife observation, hiking, and hunting during designated seasons. Use designated parking areas only, and plan your visit accordingly based on the site's focus as a conservation area.
