Winchester State Park offers a well-developed boat ramp and day-use access area on Winchester Lake, located 38 miles south of Lewiston, ID. The Boat Ramp Day Use Area features a gravel parking lot, single boat ramp with courtesy dock, multiple fishing docks, vault toilet, and picnic tables. This is an ideal launch point for kayakers, canoeists, and non-motorized boaters exploring the scenic 146-acre impoundment.
The park enforces a **non-motorized and electric-powered boats only** policy, making it a peaceful paddling destination. Winchester Lake is stocked with trout and offers excellent fishing opportunities alongside paddling. The park features an interesting trail system that encircles the lake, including a prominent trail bridge over the Lapwai Creek arm—offering scenic paddling and hiking opportunities. Full park amenities include flush toilets, restrooms, showers, and a dump station.
