Wocus Bay offers convenient access to Upper Klamath Lake, the largest freshwater body west of the Rockies at 91 square miles. Located 13 miles west of Klamath Falls on Highway 140, this day-use facility features a boat ramp suitable for kayaks, canoes, and motorboats. The site includes portable bathroom facilities during peak season and spans 123.83 acres. Note that a 10 mph speed limit applies to motorboats in this area.
Paddlers will find excellent exploration opportunities from this launch point. For a leisurely half-day trip, paddle approximately one mile to Wocus Cut, then continue into Malone Springs or take Crystal Creek for a scenic loop route back to Rocky Point boat ramp—expect about 45 minutes for this route at a relaxed pace. Be aware that motorboat racing is restricted to a designated test area between the southeast corner of Wocus Bay and 0.5 miles north of McCormack Point, west of Buck Island. Check current recreation advisories before your visit, as water quality conditions on Upper Klamath Lake can vary seasonally.
