Wolf Lake offers convenient access for boaters and paddlers through multiple launch sites within William W. Powers Recreation Area on Chicago's south side. The ramp at this location is one of three developed boat ramps in the park, with facilities on the northwest side of the lake that include separate ramps leading to the north and middle regions of the lake.
Wolf Lake is a shallow water body with a maximum depth of 15 feet and an average depth of 5 feet, making it suitable for kayaks, canoes, and small boats. The lake is popular for fishing and recreational paddling. Note that the park does not have concession stands or fish cleaning facilities on-site, so plan accordingly if you need amenities. The location provides good access to explore different sections of the lake depending on which ramp you use.
