About This Access Site
**Overview**
The Wolfeboro Town Docks provide convenient public access to Lake Winnipesaukee in the heart of Wolfeboro's waterfront district. This is a well-developed access point ideal for launching kayaks, canoes, and motorboats onto New Hampshire's largest lake. The facility is especially busy during summer months and serves as a primary jumping-off point for exploring the lake's extensive waters.

**Amenities & Practicalities**
Located at Wolfeboro Common, the docks offer parking and are surrounded by town services including restaurants, shops, and grocery stores—making it easy to provision for a day on the water. The site is accessible from Route 28; from the Alton traffic circle, head toward Wolfeboro for approximately 5.5 miles, then turn onto Roberts Cove Road. As with any popular summer destination, expect congestion during peak season. Paddlers should note that Lake Winnipesaukee is a large, open body of water that can experience significant wind and wave action, so conditions vary considerably depending on weather and location on the lake.

**Planning Your Visit**
This is an excellent base for day trips or exploring the lake's numerous islands and coves. If you prefer a quieter launch alternative, Downing's Landing in nearby Alton Bay (south on Route 11) also provides public access with additional amenities like fuel.
