Description
Yule Creek is one of the most intense, iconic, committing, and dangerous runs in Colorado. The run is made up of a series of steep slides and waterfalls, in a deep drainage overlooking beautiful views of Marble. This will be a run you will most definitely want to scout and scout well, and it is also a steep scramble down to the river, so you may want to bring some ropes for lowering boats. To access Yule from Marble, head West on West Main Street to access Colorado road 3C. Follow this road for several miles until you see the mighty and powerful Yule. For a great description - and superlative photos - of this creek, get a copy of "Whitewater of the Southern Rockies" (by McCutheon, Stafford). A run of all the drops on Lower Yule is one of the most intense day-trip creeking experiences in Colorado, if not the US. Gordon Dalton
