Description
Lower gore creek is an amped-up extension of the Upper section but still an enjoyable class III paddle through Vail. Paired with the upper, its a beautiful, consistent, and manageable and consistent day on the water. The nature of the river is playful class III creeking with some class IV hole-dodging and boofing. Passing the sewer plant on the upper is the signal that the river is about to pick up. Rapids to note are: 1\. Just past the sewer plant 2\. 1/3 mile past the Westin Hotel next to the tennis courts 3\. Just above intermountain park at the West Vail exit 4\. 200 yards past the game control fence The put-in for Lower Gore Creek is the takeout for Upper Gore Creek, the Interfaith Chapel on Vail Road. You can either take out at Intermountain Park or continue onto Dowd Chute.
