Curiously, Google routes around a long (18.6 mile) loop to get _from take-out to put-in_, even though (when I grab the coordinates and enter them into Google maps myself) it will use the nearly river-side highway (1.9 miles) when asked to route _from put-in to take-out_! Does anyone have information explaining this phenomenon? Is is not possible to head the opposite direction on this highway?
