Description
The play park in downtown Golden. All summer long you'll see tons of people including a huge tubing scene.
Most people park at the parking lot between Lions Park and the softball fields where there is a statue of a kayaker. Walking West from the parking lot along the foot path the put in will be in a break in the fence that leads down to two drain pipes. From the parking lot, everything above that gets run as low as 70cfs and is an excellent place to bring first timers up to around 300 cfs. Below 150 cfs, the flat water below the parking area is generally too low to float between features but people still walk down to Library Hole and the Washington Wave. There are features all the way down to Washington Street. Vanover Park below Ford St is a mandatory take out with a huge eddy before a number of diversion structures for the Coors Brewery.
Primary parking for this play park is at the triangular lot off of 10th St, between Lions Park and the softball fields.
This lot is right next to the Bleacher Hole and a small sandy beach.
