Description
This section ranges from class I-III. There are several options for put in and takeout. The longest stretch with whitewater goes from Jack Smith Bridge to Lava lake trail head. If you go below the lava lake bridge, you enter the mad mile stretch that is class III-V At At lower flows or for a shorter trip, you can put in at Moose Creek Campground and takeout at Lava Lake. Peak flow occurs in June and can get spicy especially through the mile stretch.
