Description
Rocky rapids in a wide river. (I have not boated this reach. The description is an assumption based on knowledge of other reaches of this river.) First 1.2 miles from the Hwy 73 bridge is on the Popple River and near half of the total drop lies here. Greenwood Park lies off Hwy 73 on the north side of the town of Greenwood. Ed Vater provides: _I grew up nearby and have run this many times ... this is an excellent spring runoff or "rainy period" trip. There is granite outcrop and large boulders in the rapids, making for a great class II run. In August this is an un-runnable rock garden unless following a large rainfall. There is a wayside park at the Hwy 73 put in and dirt road parking at the Hemlock Bridge take out. Water levels can be easily assesed from either end of the run as there are rapids within sight of each._
