An excellent writeup for this stream is in Jason Rackley's
Oregon Kayaking site.
Lat/longitude coordinates of the putin are approximate, near the confluence of Hurdygurdy and West Fork Hurdygurdy. According to Jason, where you put in depends on how much of the West Fork you want to run.
Like a lot of steep creeks in remote areas, this has more than enough wood to heat your house all winter. Take it with deliberate care.
Gradient from the topo map, mile-by-mile: 80, 120, 200, 160, 150, 160, 80, and 90 in the last 0.7 mile. (Jason says it drops 210 ft/mile in the Devil's Gap; that's very likely.)
