Description
The South Fork of the Two Medicine River offers paddlers an extremely scenic trip through the Rocky Mountain Front.  At flows around 1300 the river is Class III or III+, with the highlights being a handful of bedrock ledge drops.  Higher flows would bump the difficulty up to at least Class IV, with the ledge holes packing some serious power. Hike in on the Two Med-Heart Butte Trail No. 101 to reach the put in.  Take out on river-right at Heart Butte Cutt-off Road. Please respect the private property near the put-in and never block a road or gate.  A Blackfeet Tribal Conservation Permit is required to use the take-out.  These can be conveniently purchased online @ blackfeetfishandwildlife.net. They are $20 per year.  Do not run this river without a conservation permit. Additionally, your boat will need to be inspected in Browning at the Blackfeet Fish and Game checkpoint.
