Description
Syracuse's backyard 40 footer. This is a sweet drop with significant land owner issues.  Located right next to the Manlius Fire Dept. From the parking lot you will see a brick dam. If you boof the flume it should go, but as yet no one has run it. Standing on the dam there is a large flat rock that looks a lot like a "Cow Pie" on the river left shore.  When this was run on 7/1/2015 the water was just above this marker.  This is about prime, but more water won't hurt it. We chose to run off the shelf left of center. The landing is deep enough in the area described to cliff jump in the summer so running the drop is not expected to have a rough landing. Be stealthy while running this one. No shouting and be as unobtrusive while scouting as possible. The land owner on river right is notorious for patrolling his property and chasing people away from the falls. He will not recognise the right of navigation, and will probably call the cops if he catches you. (So you might want a copy of the Sierra Club vs. ALC Ruling handy.) Paddle down and skip town once you are done. Syracuse Area Runs: Butternut Creek Chittenango Creek (Cazenovia) Chittenango Creek (Chittenango) Fish Creek E.
