Description
A short bedrock run in the North Santiam drainage, near Detroit, OR. The gauge is on a stream nearby and only provides a correlation to Boulder Creek. The run alternates between wall to wall bedrock slides and ledges, interspersed with bouldery sections.   There are many blind corners, and the eddies are small.  It's best to be cautious your first lap down and scout judiciously, then do a second lap without getting out of your boat. The crux of the run is catching the eddy above the largest rapid on the run (The Venue), it is around a blind right turn and an eddy needs to be caught before turning right (green flags marked the eddy in 2017). The run was free of wood portages in 2017, but diligence is always required. Trip report and details here.
