Description
The Jordan River is a long flat-water section, meandering through the suburbs of Salt Lake City, on it's way from Utah Lake to the Great Salt Lake. There are approximately 30 boat ramps along this section, a few mandatory portages around diversion dams, and a paved bike path running parrallel to the river almost the entire way. Many projects are currently underway to restore the Jordan River corridor and new boat ramps are being built every year. All information on this section, including a detailed map, can be found at https://jordanrivercommission.com/water-trail/ NOTICE: As of 2015, the dangerous hydraulic at 6600 S was re-engineered and the rapid is now safe to float for most boaters.
