Description
First run in summer 2001, by persons who wish to remain nameless, after limited scouting.
The last 1.0-1.5 mile is enjoyable and offers several nice sliding drops, dropping 150 FPM.
Access is problematic. The only known put-in is on Curry Road, in the middle of farmland. While this is somewhat scenic, it also presents the most common central Kentucky stream hazard, cattle fencing. There are approximately 15 fences in the first two miles of this section, with at least 10 being mandatory portages.
Additionally, the only known takeout is the marina at Cummins Ferry, which is downstream on the Kentucky some 4-5 miles. It may be possible to take out in Woodford County at Mundy's Landing (across the Kentucky River), but this makes for a long shuttle. (See "Directions" tab.)
