Likely well under 150 cfs . . . likely too little for decent whitewater.

Exactly as the Menominee have on their reservation, this tribe has become very protective of their right to control access to their lands. As a result, this reach should be considered 'off-limits'. \\*\\*\\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\*\* A Tribal Sheriff lives (or, at least, did at the time of our 'exploratory' in 1994) across the river from a park at the listed put-in. When we explored this run, he volunteered to allow us to park in his driveway, so as not to fall prey to the occasional vandalism which had occurred in that park. This was good news and bad news. (1) It indicated that we were not considered to be 'trespassing' to run the river (as in the Menominee Reservation) but (2) It meant that the tribe or tribal members may be no more 'outsider/boater friendly' than in the Menominee Reservation. From the put-in, a braided channel trips through easy rapids. The run is mostly flatwater, punctuated by a couple interesting, twisted drops. Unfortunately, due to the nature of this small stream, many of the drops are 'wooded up', making them unrunnable in full or in part. The best action lies about a mile upstream of the confluence with the main branch of the Red, where the river slides through a twisted channel in a fun class III-ish flume. (For those familiar with the Upper Red, this confluence is a very short distance downstream from Suzie's Falls, which this final gradient would 'mirror'.) From the confluence, one would continue downstream on the 'Upper Red'. (The put-in and upper portion of hat run is also OFF-LIMITS, as noted at the outset here. However, from the confluence to the take-out of that run, the majority of the land is _not_ held by the tribe). One could take-out at an 'alternate put-in' (which was used for those wanting a shorter 'upper Red' trip, skipping Suzie's Falls) or continue downstream to do the rest of that 'upper Red' run, ending at it's take-out point (adding 5 miles to the listed length of this run).

Shuttle Info
Since the run is OFF LIMITS, shuttle directions have been 'turned off'. Also, the listed 'take-out' is the confluence of the W.Br.Red with the (main) Red River. Anyone doing this (W.Br.) run would continue downstream to the normal take-out for the 'Upper Red' run.
