Description
Pine Creek is a nice quick action packed run. It has a combination of fun quick rapids that are beefy and roadside. Even better it is along the way to the put in for the Hell's Canyon section of the Snake. This makes it a great run to do the evening before starting that trip if its running.
Gauge:
NOAA PCOO3: SWAG minimum of 500cfs. You probably want at least 1000cfs for a good time.
Nearby Camping:
Copperfield Campground (at/near take out)
Hell's Canyon Park
Put in upstream of Scotty's Hell's Canyon Outdoor Supply at a pull off that looks good and doesn't have posted signs. Go up as far as the rapids look good.
There is potential to take out right at the confluence with the Snake at Copperfield Campground. Has free day use, but no obvious easy access. Better access is slightly downstream on the Snake at the boat access for the campground on Homestead Rd
