Shady to Reservoir #2

This is a combination of what Squires called the Bearsville and Woodstock sections in New York Exposed, Vol. 2 The upper section starting in Shady has the hardest drops the higher you put in (Off New Keefe Hollow Road). The rest of the upper section is Class 3 and 4.  Scout when you get to the Shady bridge. After Shady the run is solid Class 3 all the way to Bearsville. Squires warned in his book about wood after Bearsville. The hurricanes caused the creek to jump the banks and pushed the majority of the wood out, for now. Proceed with caution or take out. The standard putin for the Woodstock section is to put in on Tannery brook which is located off Waterfall Way, near the small bridge on the main drag, however this misses some nice ledges which are located behind the town offices. To run them put in at the Yerry Hill Road bridge. The lower section has boogy water between ledge drops, mellowing out as the gradient decreases. The takeout is located on Chestnut Hill Road, just before the creek dumps into a reservoir.
