Description

This rapid is generally portaged due to a boulder falling in the river during hurricane Irene and leaving a manky undercut pocket/hole that would be most unpleasant.  After the first ledge rapid continue down boogie eventually you'll be able to see RT 27, once the river turns left away from the road again, if you don't know where Bailey's is eddy out river right walk down stream to scout the Rapid above Baileys and Bailey's. There are many eddies river right and1 significant ledge before Bailey's. If the water is at higher flows, unaware paddlers can be swept right into Baileys. There is a cluster of camps downstream on the right, and in front of one of them is Bailey's Rapid which has a huge boulder hanging into the river left. Put in below and get rdy for the biggest rapids on the run. This rapid has been run at lower and higher flows but is generally portaged.
